Web Design Case Study: Secure Parenting
Behind the Scenes Example of Modern Therapist Website Design
How we turned Secure Parenting’s preliminary vision into a warm, professional, and client-focused website, and how we can do the same for your therapist website.
When parents search for help online, they’re looking for more than credentials — they’re looking for trust, connection, and hope. For Secure Parenting, that first impression needed to be immediate, and that starts with website design that reflects the heart of the practice.
The challenge: Showing warmth and expertise in one therapy space
Secure Parenting, founded by therapist Alexis Roberson, offers attachment-based therapy, parent-child guidance, and trauma-informed support. Unlike many private practices, it’s also a growing educational hub with courses, blog posts, and resources for parents at every stage.
Alexis needed a professional website that could:
Speak to parents in a compassionate, non-clinical way
Function as a resource library and course platform
Connect seamlessly with her main private practice website at Roberson Counseling
Before we began, her vision was mostly conceptual—a preliminary vision without a clear, unified online presence. Our job was to bring that vision to life as a strong client-attracting website tailored to her audience. The challenge: Showing warmth and expertise in one space.
What we set out to create
This project went beyond just website construction — we designed a digital space that felt safe, inviting, and easy to navigate, while quietly guiding visitors toward the next step, whether that’s booking a session, signing up for a program, or exploring resources.
Our design priorities included:
A muted, calming color palette and soft design elements that reflect the gentleness of the work
Clear navigation and user-friendly user experience so parents could find what they need quickly
Call to action buttons that meet parents where they are emotionally, like “Request Appointment” or program sign-up
SEO-friendly website content that could rank for both therapy and parenting terms
Flexible architecture for future growth — from blog posts to downloadable resources and lead magnets
The design in action
From the first scroll, the Secure Parenting site addresses the stress, doubt, and overwhelm many parents feel. Every visual choice — from typography and professional headshots to the main hero image — was made to create a sense of calm authority and friendliness.
Key features include:
Mobile-optimized layouts for busy parents browsing on the go
Conversion-focused pages designed with thoughtful web copy and clear calls to action
Integrated branding with Roberson Counseling to differentiate parenting resources from broader therapy services
A site built on Squarespace websites infrastructure, allowing easy content updates without reliance on generic templates or bland and generic cookie-cutter websites
More than a website — a digital extension of her therapy private practice
The finished site does more than list services. It’s an online home that mirrors Alexis’s therapeutic approach: safe, welcoming, and grounded in expertise.
Now, parents can:
Explore resources without feeling overwhelmed
Join programs directly from the site
Get a clear sense of Alexis’s voice and approach through her thoughtful therapist professional bio and carefully crafted website bio
And for Alexis, it’s a platform that can grow with her — adding new courses, tools, and community features without starting from scratch. It’s designed to fit clients who are seeking attachment-based care and other mental health conditions.
The client's perspective
Designing a website is completely outside my skillset and I really had no interest in the learning curve! Thankfully the WTJ team ran with my vision and actually made it real (and super awesome in my opinion). Starting a second business while still working nearly full-time on the first has been a real stretch in terms of energy and confidence. Noé has been there since the beginning, providing supportive business coaching when I needed it most. The entire team helped work out the branding, web design, and tinkered with the copywriting alongside me as I turned my ideas into actual offerings. Looking back, there is no way I could have achieved all of this without Worth The Journey, especially in less than a year. It's one thing to dream, it's another to turn your dreams into reality. I needed the help and I'm so happy that Noé was the person I chose to partner with me. Highly recommend!
