Sales tip: the 3 buying stages and how to sell to them
When you're selling and promoting anything, you need to know the three buying stages.
There are 3 distinctly different stages in the mind of a buyer. As I go through them take a look at your own experience to see when these come up.
Stage 1. Discovering
In the first stage, the buyer is searching for a possible solution to their problem or desire. They may have just become aware that there even is a solution at all.
Your job is to educate them. This is where blogs and social content come in. Educate them. Don't pressure them to buy! Just become their trusted guide.
Stage 2. Considering
In the second stage, the buyer is weighing their options. For you, this is all about demonstrating your uniqueness. You're not trying to convince them you're better than other people because now you're talking about all the other options out there.
Instead, you're showing them why you're the only one in your unique category. So figure out what makes you unique, then demonstrate that without talking about you, but instead by talking about how you'd solve their problem. Remember, you're their trusted guide.
Stage 3. Deciding
In the third stage, the buyer is making a final decision. This is the time for you to show testimonials, social proof, your 30-day guarantee, all the things that make people feel safe and like they're making the right decision.
If they buy from you, make sure you have a good follow-up game too.
