Marketing Tip: How to use reputation to create buy-in from your audience
Hey everyone, I'm so excited to tell you that Brené Brown is coming on to the podcast!
Ok now I don't have a podcast, but I sure got your attention by mentioning Brené Brown right?
Why is that?
It's not just that Brené Brown is famous, it's that she's famous to you, my audience, AND that she's relevant to you.
What we're talking about here is reputation, which requires not just fame, and not just fame to the right people, but the right kind of fame to the right people.
What does that mean? Let me demonstrate with a bad example.
Hey everyone, I'm so excited to tell you that Ido Portal is coming onto the podcast!
Now it's the same exact example as before, but you probably went...huh? Who the hell is Ido Portal?
He's actually really famous in the world of fitness, movement, and physical training. But because my channel is about entrepreneurship, leadership, and vulnerability, you as my audience have no reason to know Ido, but you have all the reason to know Brené.
So, how can you masterfully use reputation to get your audience excited and ready to listen, sign up, or purchase something?
Build connections with influencers who are relevant to your people.
When I did a live video with Gay Hendricks about conscious entrepreneurship, it filled up real quick.
Who could you partner with or feature that might boost your reputation with your audience?
