How should you manage the back end file storage, content organization and hosting on your website?

My short answer is don’t.

With platforms like Wordpress, the backend hosting and file system organization vs. what’s live on your site can get pretty confusing.

That’s why I don’t recommend Wordpress to anyone who values their sanity and isn’t a web designer.

Platforms like Squarespace and Shopify have built in systems for managing your photos and files, and the hosting is also built in to the drag and drop editor.

The result is you don’t have to worry about where to store your files. Just upload them and boom! You’re done.
