Business Tip: What should your title be as a coach or wellness provider?
Are you struggling with what to call yourself, with what your title is as a business owner?
You’re not alone!
So many wellness providers, whether they’re coaches, healers, or creatives don’t know the best way to market themselves. And a big part of that is figuring out what to call yourself when you talk about what you do.
Figuring out your title can feel pretty daunting, so let me simplify it for you.
Let’s go back to the whole point of picking a title for yourself. It’s so people can you get a quick idea of what you do.
You want to create the shortest title that gives people the fullest understanding of what you do.
A relationship therapist is very clear, they help people in relationships learn to communicate and heal.
A life coach is entering the common vernacular these days, so that’s a good bet.
A joy coach is less clear. It seems like you might help me find joy, but what about my problems? I’m not sure exactly what you’re gonna do with me, I don’t know what it is and so I’m less likely to try it.
A wellness catalyzer is similar. OK, you catalyze wellness, but how? What am I gonna do? The more questions I have to ask the more likely I am to turn to something I know and am familiar with.
So try to pick a title that’s simple, familiar, and captures the essence of what you do.
