5 Things to Remember When Launching a New Product or Service
[Image description: A rocket heads straight for a very busy CEO who’s planning all the numbers and forecasts for the launch of her company’s newest product. Will it be a new lime zester or banana-holster? We wait in anticipation.]
Whether you're about to launch a website, course, workshop, social media presence, or a new business, launching can be one of the scariest times. You're not only leaping into the unknown, but you're also risking your identity to put something new out there!
The first thing I want to say is: you're a rockstar. Truly. It's brave to put yourself out there, and I'm proud of you. If you're on the cusp of launching something, this article is for you.
1. You are more unique than you think
No one will ever be able to do the same thing you're launching.
There’s a reason you’ve had the inspiration to make this dream of yours into a reality: it hasn’t been done before. At least not like this and not by you. Incorporating yourself, your story, and your life experience into your business helps you to connect with other people like you.
2. You're less unique than you think
There are 582 million entrepreneurs right now. Each of them has launched before, succeeded or failed, learned either way, and continued to the next bigger thing.
Don’t overthink things! Of course this is easier said than done, but your first idea is usually your best idea. Go with your instinct and you will come out with a lesson at the very least. And if the self-doubt starts to close in, just remember: Why not me?
3. You're in exactly the right place at the right time
In fact, you're in the only place at the only time. There's nothing else to do but boldly go forward.
Trust your intuition. Whether you believe in a higher power, destiny, or the possibility of universal alignment, it can be a relief to remember that you’re not in control of everything. You’ve gotten this far and there is no growth gained if there is no risk made.
4. Be brave
Fearlessness isn't numbing or turning off fear, it's facing the fear squarely and continuing nonetheless.
Brené Brown once said, “You can choose courage, or you can choose comfort, but you cannot choose both.” Haven’t we all chosen comfort already by working from home in our pajamas this year? Let’s choose courage this time.
5. You're a boss
Literally, you run your business. You got this. Enough said.
