5 things about business I wish I knew earlier

  1. Don’t wait until it’s perfect. That’s the oldest self-deception trick in the book. All it does is delay you from the brave and necessary step of putting yourself out there.

  2. Test every idea on a small scale. Before you invest a lot of time or energy, test your new idea to make sure the audience is there, or your infrastructure can support your growth. Then go big.

  3. Don’t be afraid of sales. Let me be honest with you, it was terrifying for me to start selling. Sometimes it still is! But doing it forced me to confront my fear of other people’s responses and made me a more accepting person. Bring on the rejection!

  4. Invest in personal development. Get a coach. Learn to meditate. Develop a body practice like yoga. Take care of your inner world and your outer world becomes much kinder.

  5. Outsource as soon as you can. When you can afford to, outsource the tedious work you don’t like or aren’t good at. Your time is more valuable than you think - save it for money-making things like marketing, sales, and most importantly doing good work.

What wisdom do you have to share? What do you wish you knew earlier?
