5-Day Social Media Video Challenge! Day #2: Recording
It’s day two of the video challenge! If you’re new, go back and watch yesterday’s video.
And if you finished day 1, you’ve already written your 3 video scripts, which means you’ve done the hardest part. Writing!
Now on to shooting and editing.
Ok I’m gonna tell you a secret that I try not to tell people because it’s embarrassing!!
I’m really bad at shooting videos.
If you saw my raw video footage you see how many bad takes it takes for me to actually make a good video.
…insert some takes…
But when you cut it all together, the movie magic makes you look great.
So here are your shooting instructions:
1. Turn your camera on video mode and hit record. Don't stop shooting.
2. Read one short line of your script at a time (while making eye contact with the lens).
3. Take a photo to use as the cover image for your video.
4. Download the Splice app. It's a simple video editor that lets you cut up your videos and export them to any platform in high quality.
5. In the Splice app, cut out all the gaps and bad takes.
Badda bing, badda boom. You’re done.
Now I just published a separate video on 3 tips for how to shoot great social media videos. Go watch that before you record yours to really make them look good.
Now go! Be brave and shoot those kick-ass videos.
Then come back tomorrow for instructions on how to post them correctly!
